Mile High Stadium Naming Rights Survey Findings
Conducted by Ciruli Associates

Nearly two-thirds of metro residents want to keep the name Mile High on the new Bronco Stadium.

  • 64% of residents want to keep the name Mile High after hearing arguments in favor and against selling the name.

  • 58% of residents want to keep the name Mile High before any pro and con information is provided.

  • 72% of residents have a "great deal" or "some information" on the naming rights issue.

  • 11% of residents said they were season ticket holders; 66% of them support keeping the name Mile High (64% of non-season ticket holders support keeping the name).

  • Women are more supportive (67%) of keeping the name Mile High than men (61%).

  • The metro area suburbs are somewhat more supportive of keeping the name (66%) than are Denver city residents (59%).

Residents were presented a series of pro and con arguments concerning the sale of the naming rights.

  • 66% of residents believe the name is a part of the areas' tradition like Red Rocks and Pikes Peak.

  • 66% of residents believe the Stadium District Board is ignoring citizens' views. They believe the public pays for the stadium and should decide the name.

  • 57% of residents believe the name Mile High is more valuable than the potential selling price as estimated by the Stadium Board.

  • 54% of residents believe the tax is low and that ending it two years earlier or saving $5 per year is not a sufficient reason to sell the name.

  • 65% of residents oppose the sale of the name to benefit Bronco ownership.

Combining a corporate sponsor's name with Mile High was supported by 38% of residents. An equal number, 38%, wanted to keep Mile High; and 17% wanted to sell the rights outright.

Telephone survey in six-county metro area of 502 registered voters. Conducted June 30 to July 7 with a range accuracy of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
